A good fire adapted community tip is to remove ornamental junipers or other hazardous wildfire fuels located within 30 feet of your home or other structures and bring them to the collection site for FREE chipping. Participants will receive a coupon from Moana Nursery (valid May 6 - 13) for 20% off of a Moana-grown replacement shrub. Limit one coupon per household, while supplies last.     May 20 Spring Clean-up (with a link to this information: Washoe Valley Alliance in cooperation with Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful has scheduled a Spring clean-up of Eastlake Blvd from old 395 to the Truckee Meadows Protection District Station 16 alongside Little Washoe Lake (a distance of 1 mile) on Saturday, May 20 at 9:30 AM. We will meet at the dirt parking lot at the corner of 395 and Eastlake Blvd. If you wish to participate, please call Karen Critor at 772-7715 by Wed. May 17 to insure that we have enough equipment. We will provide safety vests, pickers, trash bags and latex gloves. You might wish to bring heavier gloves.
